Here's what's up, what's down, and what's going on in my record-breaking world.
Here's a quick blog entry to say that I'm still setttling into Sydney, so my internet access hasn't been very steady. But the good news it that I've found an apartment which I'll be moving in to on the 25th, so after that everything will be put into high gear.
A lot of sites from around the world have been discussing (and linking to) my domain recently. As a result, I've started a thread in the forum where I'm adding all the different sites that I see bringing in visitors...from Romania to the Netherlands. Definitely check it out.
As I mentioned in my last blog entry, I will be doing an interview with Entrepreneur Magazine Radio. Because I don't have a steady phone line, I'm just waiting to settle in with my own line so I can do the international interview without any hiccups. So stay tuned for that, it should happen the Friday after next.
Anyway, as soon as I move in and set up the operations in my new apartment, things will be at full throttle, with a lot of exciting things to come from Down Under!
So here I am Down Under, so jet lagged that the entire experience feels completely surreal, but loving every second of it. The weather's great, the people are really friendly, and Sydney is absolutely stunning! But this comes as no surprise, since I've lived here from 2001 - 2003 as a University student. Like I had mentioned before, this is where I'll be calling home again indefinitely, having moved here to be with my beautiful girlfriend, Aleksandra. Yes, a very romantic story indeed...but I'm keeping the movie rights, sorry.
I'm glad to announce that an article has been written about me and my little domain on DomainesInfo.fr, which is a leading source of domain name industry news in France and the country's only domain name daily. It's in French, but you can read a roughly translated version thanks to Google, here. The international media is slowly, but surely, building interest in my idea, but we still have a very long way to go...
Speaking of the media, I've spoken to the people of Entrepreneur Magazine Radio and they want to schedule an interview during one of their Friday shows. They wanted to do it last Friday, but I was still traveling, so we're rescheduling most likely for next Friday, I'll keep you guys posted. This will be great exposure, especially since the show specializes in "featuring top business leaders and entrepreneurs sharing the secrets of their success."
My Marketing Promotions man MJ is also hooking me up with some Australian media contacts, so things should soon pick up very quickly here.
My forum has also been growing a lot in recent days, thanks to the participation of last month's winners, so if you haven't checked it out, do stop by and introduce yourself.
Anyway, gotta go apartment hunting! Wish me luck...
OK, so that was the longest time I've gone without writing a Blog entry, so I'm sorry to all you blog-lovers out there! It's just that I've been preparing for my big move down under to Sydney, Australia which has kept me extremely busy. I'm leaving Brazil on Thursday, and I'll be in LA for the Weekend before arriving in Sydney on the 8th of March. I probably won't be able to do another blog entry until I'm in Australia, so please bear with me! A new life and adventure awaits me down under and I couldn't be more excited. I will sell this domain from Australia, I know that for sure.
A lot has been happening with my domain. My man MJ, TRBD's official Marketing Promoter, has come up with a brilliant idea of finding one world traveler who will advertise this domain on their global trip in exchange for a very juicy grand prize. I will be setting this up with MJ once I'm in Australia, so if any of you are planning a round-the-world trip in the next few months, keep your eyes open because this will be an awesome opportunity to win some serious money and help spread this domain to every corner of the globe, literally!
I've also noticed a few copy-cat sites have sprung up, which I've pointed out in the Forum. What can I say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! These people obviously believe in my idea, otherwise they wouldn't be trying to do the same thing. However, as we all know, only the original creator gets all the glory, while the rest collect dust under the wannabe spotlight. Instead of trying to sell their domains for record-breaking millions, they should be linking to mine to try and win the $1 million link-to-me grand prize...at least that way that have a shot at winning something!
I also got an e-mail form Chris Murch, President of Entrepreneur Magazine Radio about doing a possible interview, so that may be in the works as well. Like I always say, this idea just keeps growing and growing with more and more people hearing about it and supporting it...one day, this idea will catch the eye's of the right person, and a new world record will be broken.
