Here's what's up, what's down, and what's going on in my record-breaking world.
So the interview with Entrepreneur Magazine Radio went very well. I actually woke up in time, although my voice was a little off since it was so early in the morning (4:45am Sydney time). I had a nice talk with Lee Mirabal, the wonderful host of the show, and you can listen to it here. I had a lot more to say, but obviously these interviews are always limited by time, so you have to try and fit in as much info as possible. I talk very fast in general, so that definitely helps. :) I think the fact that Entrepreneur Magazine Radio, which focuses on successful Entrepreneurs and leading Business people, chose to interview me lends a lot of credibility to this whole idea. I need to do more and more interviews like this to really get the word out and give this idea more and more credibility, so I will be focusing on that in the coming months. This was actually my first interview since I raised my price to $12,000,001, so I'm glad I was able to get the word out on such a prestigious show.
You may have noticed that the Forum has been growing more and more this past month thanks to a number of new and very active supporters vying for the $500,000 Forum Grand Prize who are turning the forum into a full-fledged community around this whole idea. In light of the increasing activity in the forum, I've gone ahead and made a major expansion to it, adding categories such as Web Design & Development and Marketplace, with over 15 new subcategories. I think there are enough new subcategories now for every taste. This Forum is for you guys, my visitors and supporters, to exchange ideas and meet each other while supporting this very domain, so I want to create as many topics as you are willing to discuss. I want to make the Forum massive, with thousands of members and I think we're on our way. If you have not checked out the Forum yet, just check it out here, register quickly, drop us a line in the Welcome Center, and get to know some incredibly interesting people from around the world who support this world record in full!
Also, the Translations of the site are on their way. On Monday we'll have Portuguese, on the following Monday, Spanish, and soon after that German, then Italian, and finally Chinese. Translating all the text on this site has been an incredible task for my Sponsor, Bureau Translation Services, but they will be delivering the goods soon, which will hopefully attract more non-english speaking visitors.
A few interesting things are cooking up here in Australia too, so stay tuned. Until then, see you in the Forum!
Now that I'm finally settled in Australia (sort of...), I was able to reschedule the interview with Entrepreneur Magazine Radio for this Friday at 11:45am US Pacific Standard time. Do the math on that one and you'll realize that that's 4:45am Sydney, Australia time (and I'm not a morning person!). But I guess that's the price you have to pay when working on a medium that ever sleeps! Anyway, this is the weekly internet radio show of the very popular magazine, Entrepreneur, so I'm very excited to be doing this interview. After all, this show is dedicated to "featuring top business leaders and entrepreneurs sharing the secrets of their success", so I'm honored that they've decided to interview moi. You should be able to listen to the interview live on their site...just make sure you have the correct time for your time zone.
So that's it folks, this little domain is growing slowly but surely and is well on it's path to being sold. I can't wait...
It's that time of the month again, and my favorite moment! I've just announced the prize winners for March. Check out the Support the Feat page and click on each category to see if you've won! If you did, then you have money to your name when I sell this domain! Christian Hjelvik, our Forum Moderator, has won a second monthly prize! These prizes are awarded completely at random, so he is extremely lucky with 3 prizes to his name (2 monthly's and 1 miscellaneous), but that goes to show that it's definitely possible to win more than once! Well done Gulls! But are the rest of you going to let him walk away with the rest of the prize money? I didn't think so. Support the feat today and claim your stake in this multi-million dollar domain!
We did not have a winner for a second consecutive month in the "Register a Domain" category! Is the domain market down? I hope not, because I'm trying to sell the most expensive one! :) If you are in the market for a domain, you will be hard-pressed to find a lower price: $7.85/yr for a .COM with NO STRINGS attached, plus a chance to win a $5,000 monthly prize and the $100,000 Grand Prize! Don't miss out! Remember, domain transfers also count, and you get a free extra year for FREE! Support this domain today by registering your domain through me!
Thanks to all the other March participant! Don't give up, keep supporting this world record attempt, help make history and, who knows, you may end up a millionaire! Good luck to all the April participants!
Wow, it's been ages since my last blog entry, so thanks for bearing with me. I wanted to point out a very significant moment in the TRBD saga: the 200,000 visitor mark has been officially reached today. In other words, 200,000 different people across the globe now know about this record-breaking domain and what I'm trying to accomplish. That's A LOT of eyeballs. It's a very important milestone and one which further exemplifies the progress this world record attempt is making. Remember, I never said this record was going to be broken right away, or that this domain was going to sell as quickly as the MIllion Dollar Homepage...this is an entirely different concept and it will take a while to accomplish as support builds behind it, but the rewards and sheer impact this will have on the world will all be well worth it. I'm just glad to see that this domain idea is growing steadily every month, as can be noted in the forum and in the number of visitors to this site. Let's keep growing!
On a more personal note, I have finally moved in to my new apartment in beautiful Sydney, Australia with my equally-beautiful girlfriend, Aleksandra. We could not be happier, but a lot of work remains to be done, as we shop for furniture and set it up in our new home. We're only half way there, but we're making good progress!
I've signed up for a lightning-fast broadband connection down here (24 Mbps ADSL2+ connection!), which should be installed in the next 10-15 days, and which will help me be back in FULL force on this record-breaking path to success. So just bear with me a few more days as we settle into our new apartment and finish buying our furniture and setting everything up, after that I promise you'll be hearing A LOT more from me and this record-breaking dream of mine.
Cheers from Down Under...
